A combined rail and road transport - a good environmental choice!

Reducing our impact on the environment is an important matter to us. We therefore continuously strive to identify areas in which we can improve our efficiency and eliminate additional waste. These efforts were rewarded in 2016 by the “Lean & Green” award, which was granted to us following our commitment to reducing our CO₂ emissions by 20% within five years.

In 2019, we also started a cooperation with Volvo Trucks regarding the use of trucks running on LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas). Using this type of fuel directly reduces CO₂ emissions by 20% in comparison with a “normal” truck. Some other areas we work upon to reduce our impact on the environment include:

• the use of multimodal trains,
• the renewal of our fleet (all GN Trucks are Euro V or Euro VI, the eco-friendliest diesel engines on the market),
• the education of our drivers to ECO-driving,
• the collaboration with other transport companies to reduce empty kilometers for some regular flows.

• deliver the goods on within agreed time,
• deliver the goods at the right place,
• minimize goods damages,
• clear communication in- and outside the company,
• reducing carbon emissions and air pollution during transport,
• reducing soil contamination caused by tire wear during transport.
